Physiotherapy is a health care profession that is primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments, disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through education, examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention Physiotherapy management commonly includes prescription of or assistance with specific exercises, manual therapy and manipulation, mechanical devices such as traction, electrotherapy modalities which include heat, cold, sound waves, radiation, assistive devices, prosthesis, orthosis and other interventions.

Eligibility for BPT admission: | Candidates for admission to the BPT course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and must have obtained not less than 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. Regarding candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together in the qualifying examination are not less than 40% instead of 45% as above. | ||

After completion of the fourth year examination students have to go for 6 months internship. This internship covers all departments equally such as Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, General Medicine, and Physiotherapy.
1. Is BPT ( Bachelor of Physiotherapy) is Paramedical course?
BPT is not a Paramedical course. It is a professional medical course like BDS or MBBS. We can't consider a bachelor of physiotherapy as a technician course, it is a professional course.
2. Is BPT a Doctor?
Yes, Physiotherapists are doctors and they can use the prefix of Dr. before their name. We have BPT ( 4.5 years) + MPT ( 2 years) + Doctoral degree ( 3 years).
3. Is NEET is compulsory for Admission in BPT?
No, as of government rule NEET is compulsory for MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. NEET is not required for BPT. You can take direct admission in Bachelor of Physiotherapy based on your 12th marks.
4. Is Physiotherapy a good career?
Yes, Physiotherapy is one of the most demanding courses in the medical field nowadays. This is because of the wide range of career options available. Nowadays this is one of the best career options selected by girls. You can open your own clinic, or can go for a private job in multi-specialist hospitals, or government hospitals, or you can work as a freelancing consultant.
5. Can a physiotherapist put Dr in front of his name?
Yes, a Physiotherapist can put Dr. in front of his name.
6. Why students prefer Bangalore colleges for BPT more than Maharashtra colleges?
As we all know, Bangalore is considered a hub of education, and the climate and environmental conditions also make it favorable for studies. The course and syllabus are monitored by Rajiv Gandhi health and science university, one of the largest universities in Asia. The fee structure of course is also a factor for giving preference to Bangalore colleges. In Bangalore, fees start from Rs 65000 per year which is comparatively very less. One more factor is the Admission process. NEET is not required for BPT admission in Bangalore. Any students having more than 45% in PCB (12th ) can directly take admission.
7. Why Physiotherapy is better than Nursing or pharmacy?
Physiotherapy is a better career option than nursing or Pharmacy. A physiotherapist has a wide range of career options compare to Nursing of Pharmacy. Physiotherapy is one of the most demanding courses in the medical field nowadays. This is because of the wide range of career options available.
